This is a great condition marking gauge, and rare in this state
Blaisdell's patent is a mechanically complex approach to a simple problem, but it was something for someone
Made in several sizes, this is the rarest and smallest size
This gage uses a complicated series of cams and sliding bars to create a gage that can mark off any convex or concave curved edge
Once you figure out exactly how to set it up it actually works pretty well, but this design is way too complicated for the task it was designed to do, but that’s what makes it interesting and collectible
