Description

This is a Reproduction Union Civil War Infantry belt rig consisting of a Model 1855 belt, Model 1839 US oval belt plate, cap box and a Pattern 1864 scabbard for a Model 1855 bayonet. This is the standard rig that a Union Infantryman would have worn during the later part of the Civil War. The black leather belt is 44" in length and 1 7/8" wide. Coupled with the Model 1839 US buckle it will fit a size 46 waist. The buckle is brass with arrow hooks and is lead filled. The cap box strongly resembles the Model 1855 riflemans box. It has no maker or inspectors cartouches. All stitching is strong and unbroken, both belt loops are present and securely attached. The wool is still present, but the nipple pick is missing. The seven rivet pattern 1864 bayonet scabbard is in perfect condition. The stitching is strong and unbroken and the scabbard tip is securely attached. All you need to complete this rig is a bayonet!
