Body length: about 8-9 cm
Appearance: Haplopelma schmidti is highly variable in color. The most popular color has a brown base coloration with longer yellowish hairs. The Carapax is brown to golden-yellow in color. The abdomen is brown with a subscription model.
There are a whole range of other colors. Characteristic of all the color is a white "beard" of long hair on the outside.
Stance: Because it is a large and very grave nature that should be it a high ground offering (at least 15 cm, preferably more), which enables it to apply a Residential tube. The "special Haplopelma basin" as VON WIRTH & HUBER (VON WIRTH, V. & M. HUBER 2002) describe their attitude as well as method (water pools) have also proven Haplopelma schmidti. You can see them but also in a (preferably high) "Fauna Box", which up until a few centimeters under the cover with potting soil, humus or coir peat-sand mixture is filled, place - it loses, however, some advantages of the above " Haplopelma special pool "offering. The Chinese Golden Earth Spider is a rather aggressive species, one that will not hesitate to bite humans if disturbed. Its venom is the subject of much toxicology research, and while the effects of this spider's bite on man is not well-documented, it is frequently lethal in small doses to laboratory animals such as mice and rats. As a result, it is generally regarded as a highly venomous specimen.The venom itself is a rather complex neurotoxin, containing numerous compounds capable of blocking neurotransmitters.

Alternatively, one can create a "fauna box" by filling up a cage (as high as possible, up to a few centimeters below the top) with potting soil, one can place (as high as possible) a "fauna box", which one fills up with potting soil, coconut compost, or a peat moss mixture. However this method is less advantageous than the method recommended in the
Haplopelma Spezialbecken
. Temperatures of 23°-25°C are sufficient.
