Ignacy Jan Paderewski
, autograph letter signed signed, 1 page on Hotel Gotham, New York stationary,  8 1/2 by 11 inches, August 19, 1927,  in very good condition.  In the letter, written in English, Paderewski discusses a potential purchase of property in Texas and asks if his friend, who is going to Texas to evaluate the property and the deal, would be interested in half interest if he finds the property appealing.  Paderewski mentions that his friend should say to anyone who asks that he is a friend of Mr. Schaad and keep Paderewski's name in confidence.
Paderewski (1860-1941), the great Polish pianist, composer, and stateman spend many years of his life in the United States.  He toured the country many times, once in a private railway car, and moved to California in 1913.  While in California, he acquired a large vineyard.   He seems to have had a penchant for land as this letter indicates his desire to purchase property in Texas.
