Antique clapboard gauge, Nesters Patent 1867

Description

Clapboard Gauge-
Offered is an antique clapboard gauge marked "Nesters Patent, December 31st, 1867".  Has rosewood body with brass trim.  Measures 12" long.  Top section has a level with good vial.  One end has brass thumb screw that adjusts brass foot between 1-9" along inscribed brass rule with a scribe point on other end.  Also has 1-12" inscribed rule.  One side is brass plated with adjustable brass slitter.  Wood has a chip on each edge of legs on non plated side with some use scratches.   An impressive patented tool in "as found" uncleaned condition.  I would give this a tool condition rating of G+.
